Short Film - The Golden Fez Monkey - McSteed TV

Here's a short film that we made last Sunday, for the Film Riot challenge.  While we discussed the overall idea, we chose the shots, filmed, edited, color corrected, and mixed the whole short in a day.  Shot on my Canon 5D MKIII, edited in Adobe Premiere, and Color Corrected in Davinci Resolve Lite.
The whole short was filmed within a 10' area of Chris' backyard, with 2 baby palm trees. The challenge was to make one location look like a completely different location.  With a fog machine and a couple of tree clippings, we made the open backyard into a Jungle!  How did we do?  Comment below!

Dubai to Los Angeles Time lapse

A time-lapse of my recent flight from Dubai to LA.  I was able to get a complete time-lapse this time with the GoPro HD Hero3, thanks to the frame allowing for external power.  Still working out the best method for these, not a lot of practice opportunities!!  Getting the complete trip this time was an accomplishment, hopefully I'll be able to refine it more on my next flight.

I went Dune Bashing during my layover in Dubai, here's a GoPro video of the trip.  We traveled about 30 Km through the desert to the camp.

GoPro TimeLapse Dubai to LA

From my flight home last year, my GoPro didn't last the entire flight, and overheated over Iran...  While I wish the view was better, it was the only available window seat...  I hope to have better luck on my next flight!  The hardest thing about learning how best to do these timelapses is that you only have 1 shot per flight!   And for the GoPro, no real way to review until after the flight is over... The sunrise is from a little after we crossed the North Pole, still within the arctic circle.

As I am still not happy with the overall time lapse, I did not bother dust-busting this video yet.  Hopefully my next one will be better!
