Ryan's Prom

While posing for their Prom Portrait, Martha was struck with a case of the giggles, here's Ryan's attempt at being serious!

San Jose Team's Successful Attempt

This launch was of the San Jose team's rocket.  It took a while to get it up and running, but it was a nice clean flight.

TimeLapse of Sugar Launch

Here is a quick timelapse of the launch taken with my old iPhone.  Unfortuantely it goes by pretty quick, but the cloud formation in the background is pretty interesting!

Successful Launch, Failed Recovery

Randy's launch was a success!

However the parachute strap caught on fire and burned through, leaving the nose cone sailing off into the mountains on a gentle breeze while the rest of the rocket came in hard and fast!
The impact buckled the bulkhead of the motor, it looks like it got a little too hot!  It took us a good 15 minutes or so to reach it, and the tailpipe erupted in flames!!
This was the final flight of this camera, it didn't take the landing too well!!  The end of the SD card was a little singed, but on the surface the SD card looked like it may have survived the crash.  Unfortunately though, the SD card was cracked down the middle. :(  If anyone knows how to salvage busted SD cards, drop me a line, I'd love to recover the video from this flight!

Senior Prom

Here's a Portrait of Ryan on his Senior Prom, he and his girlfriend Martha humored me in the cold wind while I dialed in the exposure, 15 sec at f/16, ISO 200.  Unfortunately the weather was overcast which allowed for just enough ambient light that as they moved around, I caught them in the image.  This was the sharpest one of the sequence, and they wanted to get to the dance!

Short lived frivolity, not completely finished getting back online

So it looks like the links to the photos are all pointing to the original site, which no longer exists, so I will have to go through and manually fix the links... It'll just take a little longer...

AIAA Launch Video

Another launch video from last weekend, this was the San Jose team's rocket.  For this video I just propped the iPhone outside of the Block House to record the launch.

AIAA Launch

We were in the underground bunker for this launch, I only had my iPhone, but the video came out pretty well.

It's Back!!!

Sorry it has been a while, Google deactivated the FTP service for blogger a few months back, which caused me to reconfigure my domain. Alas there was a glitch with a google apps service that prevented google from using this domain, but with the help of Nitecruzr, http://blogging.nitecruzr.net I was finally able to jump through all the hoops of my DNS hell and get everything back up and running!!
I have new photos to post, which I will upload soon...
For now, I think Nemo says it best!!
Yeah!!!
