Grain Assembly

Here are several images of the grain assembly.  There were 6 segments, 80 pounds in all, which had to be glued together and aligned into a single grain with a 7 point star core.  The grains were glued together with silicone sealant.

Suger Shot 2 Space Static Test Video

Saturday, May 5th, Sugar Shot to Space had a static test of the first stage on a half scale motor at the FAR (Friends of Amateur Rocketry) facility in the Mojave Desert.  80 lbs of propellant with a delay plug in the bulkhead, same as in the 2-stage setup.  However it was just a test to see if 1 stage could be successful.  Unfortunately, as the video shows, the test failed only a second into the burn!  The 1st video is normal speed, shot on the 5D, the second video was handheld at 60fps on my 7D, playing back at 24 fps.

I will do another post soon of additional shots, but please be patient as I am gearing up for a trip to India.

Time-lapse Driving Home from Mammoth Lakes

Here is a time lapse of the first part of our drive home from my Cousin's wedding in Mammoth Lakes.  It was made with my GoPro HD Hero, testing out the suction cup mount to our windshield.

Time Lapse

Alright, so I've been bad at updating for a while, but I had a few minutes to sit down and review some photos I took up at Convict Lake in California at my cousin's wedding.  There was a huge storm that came in with winds up to a 100 mph over the sierras, here's a brief time-lapse of some clouds taken at 1 frame a second the day after the storm.

It's been a while...

I've been gone for a while, been pretty busy, I had several HD's crash, including my photo library and my backup, and then the backup of my backup.  Needless to say, I will not be purchasing anymore seagate drives for a while!

I recently went on a trip to China, here is an image I took at the 798 artist's park in Beijing, more to come soon!

The Search for a signal

Reminiscent of the days when one needed to adjust the rabbit ears on the tv to get a good signal, which usually involved standing in a certain position in a room...
